Adam Fails - Jesus Prevails
Man’s problems began in the Garden with Adam and Eve. Little did Adam know that his sin would bring about a universal change in mankind. Scripture refers to Adam as the first Adam and Jesus as the Second or Last Adam. Jesus came to restore what the first Adam lost. “For as by one’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” John 1:14 “But made himself of no reputation and took upon and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men; and being found in the fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:7-8 ADAM ‘S SIN
Adam committed High Treason by the act of disobedience to God’s command. The result of that sin gave Satan all of Adam’s authority and dominion that God had given to him in the garden, and it also broke the communion between God and man. Because of Adam’s sin all mankind is now in a fallen state, separated from his creator. The transformation that took place in the spirit of Adam became universal and all mankind now has a new master called Satan. The moment Adam sinned, spiritual death entered into him, in other words, Adam died spiritually, his spirit underwent a drastic change, from life to death spiritually. The problem now is that all mankind is identified with Adam, and every person born into this world from that point in time to the present is born with the sin-nature of Adam. They are spiritually dead (separated from God) and must be born again so they can enter once again into the presence of God. Because man’s seed will only produce another spiritually dead person, the Sacrificial Lamb of God must come from One who is Not subject to Satan He cannot be conceived from the seed of man He must be conceived of the Holy Spirit and the vessel is to be a virgin as spoken of in Isaiah 7:14. MARY CONCEIVES THE SON OF GOD
“…The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35 “And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; BE IT UNTO ME ACCORDING TO THY WORD. And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38 The way Mary conceived is by accepting the Word of God spoken to her. That is the same way we are born again. By accepting the Word of God in our hearts and confessing it with our mouth. Read Romans 10:9,10. Mary believed and accepted the Word of God spoken to her and she conceived the Son of God. John 1:14. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” JESUS OUR REDEEMER IS BORN
Jesus is born in Bethlehem, grows up and begins His earthly ministry at the age of thirty. Directly after He is baptized He goes into the wilderness to be tempted of Satan for forty days. During this time Satan attempts to defeat Him by using every temptation known to man, but Jesus does not fail as the first Adam failed in the garden. Jesus’ conquers! After three years of ministry the time for Him to be the Sacrifice is near. To fully understand what Jesus was facing we have to understand that Jesus had a flesh and blood body just like all mankind. He could feel pain like you or I feel pain, and the death He was to face was as difficult as it would be for any person. Actually more difficult because He knew what He must suffer to redeem man. Jesus could have changed His mind and called ten thousand Angels, but if He had there would be no redemption and man would be doomed forever. Scripture says, He became obedient even to the death on the cross, that you and I might be partakers of His righteousness. “…..so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19. He knew if He didn’t go to the cross there would be no hope for man. His body had been prepared as a sacrifice to redeem God’s creation, man! He was the Sacrificial Lamb of God that would destroy the works of the Devil. “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might DESTROY HIM THAT HAD THE POWER OF DEATH, THAT IS THE DEVIL.” As you follow Jesus throughout the scripture you see Him preaching, teaching and healing the sick. But let’s go on to the crucifixion. You might want to read the book of Mark or Luke and familiarize yourself concerning this event. Jesus is arrested first in the Garden of Gethsemane, taken down to the Hall of Caiaphas. He is then blindfolded, spit upon, struck, insulted and His beard pulled out. You will witness the long, long, cold weary hours until He is taken before Pilate and then eventually to Herod to be mocked and jeered. He is clothed with the mock garments of Kingly authority and with a mock crown of thorns upon His brow. He stands there calm and silent. He is then scourged and His back is laid open with such forceful blows that the blood gushes forth with each strike of the whip, tearing the flesh with each retreat of the whip. (This is the blood that heals our bodies. “By His stripes we are healed.”) After all of this He must now carry His own cross up the hill to Golgotha. I can see Him stagger beneath the weight of the cross on His wounded back, yet He utters not a sound. As He reaches the crest of the mountain He is laid down upon the wooden cross and now Satan drives the spikes into His hands and feet. Jesus the Son of God is crucified! I want you to get a vision of what really happened. Let’s not make a beautiful picture out of if. It was a dreadful, terrible death, but let’s look beyond this scene and see the agony of the Son of God and see Him smitten by His own Father. “Surely he hath borne our griefs, (sickness, disease) and carried our sorrows (pain, afflictions) yet we did esteem him stricken, SMITTEN OF GOD, and afflicted.” Isaiah 53:4. God is now dealing with Jesus as our sin substitute. He is not dealing with His body, but with His Spirit and Soul. God is taking our sin nature, hideous, spiritual death and making it to strike, as the Prophet says, upon His soul. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” II Corinthians 5:21 God is making Jesus to become sin. In other words, Jesus is dying spiritually. He is being separated from His Father God. The Holy One is taking man’s place and the whole human race is now represented in Him as He hangs there under judgment on the accursed tree. Is it any wonder He would cry out, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?” This is the first time Jesus has been separated from His Father. God cannot look on sin therefore, He turned His face away. At this point in time, Jesus was sin. He didn’t have sin, He was actually made to be sin. REDEMPTION IS A SUCCESS
God’s plan was a success. You see, Satan really through he had finally defeated God by killing His Son. Little did he know that he was fulfilling God’s plan to redeem man, to open the way for all of mankind to once again enter the presence of God through the Blood of Jesus and establish the Family of God. The Father’s plan was to send His Son to redeem man by the sacrifice of Himself, to become the Lamb, to spill His blood that would give mankind an eternal redemption. Jesus achieved what He came to earth to do and that was to make the way for you and I to enter into the presence of God once again. The way is open to anyone who will accept the finished work of Jesus. Jesus paid the ultimate price and we must not take it lightly. If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Savior, you can. All anyone needs to do is accept the sacrifice of Jesus as personally for them, receive Jesus as their Lord and make a confession of that acceptance and you will become a child of God. “For God so loved (you) that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever (available to all) believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Jesus has made the way to the Father, to everlasting life, to Heaven, but it is up to each person, personally to accept or reject His offer. PRAYER OF SALVATION:
“God, be merciful to me, a sinner, and forgive all my sins. Up to now I have rejected Jesus, but I repent of that sin. I believe that He came to die for me. I accept His sacrifice on the cross and the blood he shed for me. You said if I would confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior and believe in my heart that you raised him from the dead I will be saved. I do believe and confess Jesus as my Savior. I am now your child because I believe Your Word. Thank you Father for giving me everlasting LIFE”.
